As some of you already know, on Saturday January 24th, our longtime friend and service technician, Shawn Daniel, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes in his hometown of Sanford, Florida. His dedication and kind heart will be truly missed by all of us within his extended Chicago Dryer family – including the many distributors and customers all over the world whose lives he touched through his field service travels across many continents.
The 14 years of hard work he gave to Chicago Dryer and the friendships he forged with all of us, and everyone in our industry, will be remembered fondly and often. May you all remember his kind smile, dedication to his job no matter how big or small, and a “God bless” at the end of the day. With a “yes, sir” “yes, ma’am” he says goodbye to us, and us to him. He was a great man who will be truly missed.
From Bruce W. Johnson:
"It is rather ironic that Shawn passed within the same 24 hour period as “Mr. Cub” Ernie Banks. As everyone knows, in addition to being a consistent All Star and Hall of Famer. Ernie was known for his politeness to everyone he met and his positive outlook on life. (Even Sox fans liked and admired him.) In our own and much smaller laundry world, Shawn is also a Hall of Famer who will be remembered both for his technical expertise, willingness to work hard at his craft, and the stories his peers will remember which will bring a smile to their faces. As Chicagoans, it’s tough to lose two Hall of Famers in one day. They don’t come along very often. We are proud that Shawn played for our team."
